Arrival

I'm doing great! Everyone here is nice!
June, who is a teacher at Agape children's home and David, who is one of Rev. Whitcomb's church assistants, both picked me up at the airport.
My flight got in 40min late and then my luggage was not there, so I waited at the baggage claim till the last. And before that I had the HUGE line to go through at Security, it was not difficult at all, just a lot of people were on the flight. Here they do not let people meet you at the baggage claim. When I finished filing a claim for my lost luggage, I then went through customs. It was about 9pm when I went to the exit (I was scheduled to land at 6:50).
When I came out the exit, I was suddenly overwhelmed, it was as if I was walking out onto someone's driveway. There was some metal fencing set up to show taxi drivers and others picking up arrivals where to stand. It was dark and there were people with signs to identify who they were and/or who they were picking up. They packed all around the fences and then before them was security. Before I landed in Ghana I prayed that God would show me right away that David and my host June truly were His people, and that I would like them. When I looked around at ALL the signs, I told myself I would NOT pass the security guards till I saw David! Then suddenly I said under my breath, "Lord help me!" As soon as the prayer was uttered I saw this Agape sign and then I saw the face with the same glasses in the picture and as I went toward him, he realized I was coming to him, he smiled and I knew he was a GODLY man!!!!! And I knew I would be safe! He then came through the break in the fence to me and we confirmed names, we walked a little and he introduced me to my host June(who is 27). David had a taxi waiting, I stuck very close to him so that every one would see this American was with someone! Lol!

I am staying at the children's home. June is staying here too but when her husband comes home from his 2month mission trip she will go home and I'll see her for school only.

I have been helping with the K4 class. It is stretching for me. I like everyone I have met.
I have been at the airport 3times(including arrival) and now have my bags as of Thursday! David was a HUGE help with my luggage!

Thursday the staff here at the school have a time of worship and prayer! It is good! There's like 15teachers and then there are others who take care of office work and such.

Last night the children at the home and the three or so staff members and myself went to a school play! It was Charlie Brown! Oh I watched the new Charlie Brown on the last flight!

When I was leaving home and traveling I kept wanting to turn around and go home, I did not want to go away from my comforts zone. God had me only think about the step I was taking. I was only ready for Security, then only ready to board my flight. I could not think about taking off, just getting on the plane! Once I landed in Ghana was I EXCITED and SO GLAD I was here!!!!! :)

  1. So excited for you Jamie and definitely still praying for you! So wonderful to see your trust in the Lord and you are exactly right, we take it one step at a time! So thankful that you have a arrived (even if not at the expected time or with all you were supposed to have!) and that you are enjoying your time! Keep resting in the Lord and rely on Him for the strength! Sometimes we have to be outside of our comfort zone to truly grasp the lessons God has in store for us! (And to see what faith and trust in Him truly look like!) Miss you bunches! Katie Heffle :)

New Adventure

Hello Friends,             I am SO excited to share with you all that I will be leaving for Mozambique, Africa, with my brother. I will be back home by the end of the year. We are going for mission training and to encounter God in a deeper way! Prayers are always very much excepted!      We are going to be going on mini outreaches to the bush where there is no running water and no out houses. I am excited! We are each required to take a personal single person tent and sleeping bag for these mini out reaches! I don't know all the details but I know it will be a GREAT time of learning and we are excited to be learning from those who Live this life style.       Our regular living conditions will be rooming with 8-12 other students(of the same gender) we will not always have running water(due to being in a 3th world country) so we need to be sure to have an emergency money supply for bottled water(otherwise we can...

Fathers Day

Fathers Day Thank you Dad for serving God by serving our family!!!!      How blessed I have been to have you as my Dad! I really don’t know who I would be if God did not give me to you. I remember once I had a dream I found out I was adopted, I was so mad and when I awoke I was still angry. For I wanted no other Father or Mother.     You had asked God how you could instill a love for Him in your children. And God told you to just love Him. You never followed someone else’s plan or program, only God. And now 33 years later that love you desired your children to have with your Heavenly Father, they have and desire even more!    Thank you for not chasing wealth or the things of this world! Thank YOU SO MUCH for chasing God! Thank you for your time…looking back I ask myself how did you have the time to accomplish all that you did? You raised seven children, provided for, loved, served, sacrificed yourself for your wife and Child...
