Twenty-eight days and I will be headed out!
God has given me a great opportunity to serve Him at Agape Gospel Mission, in Ghana!
Serving with children has been on my heart for years. This past year I decided to take a step of faith and begin saving for this trip. About October I requested information for short-term and long-term mission trip. I received the packet in November, I discovered one of the first steps on this adventure was I had to tell about my self. There was some pointers as to what they wanted to know(which was helpful), yet I really don't know what to write when it comes to the "About Me" in anything. I would rather sit down and have some "healthy" hot chocolate and talk about what is on our hearts! If you know me you know I never have trouble finding some thing to say and I am like an open book! Then once I was approved I had to make time to fill out the paperwork for my visa and make sure I marked every "t" and dotted every "i" so that my application would not get sent back because I put that I was born in 2016, LOL!
The process has been new and intimidating. I am not the "planner" in my family, lol! But that is okay with God because He loves to use our weakness! God has been encouraging me from the start to just take each next step in faith, and that He would take care of the outcome and the next chapter of my life. Why was I worried about the next chapter of my life...because I knew I would be leaving the security of having a good full-time job, not knowing if it would be available when I returned. He has commanded us not to worry in Matthew 6:33-34. He continually reminds me if I'm walking in His will I will be alright, that He already knows what comes next. So I breath and take the next step!
My family had the opportunity to meet this missionary family about twenty-some years ago when I was little. They went to church with us for a year on one of their breaks to the States. When I was seventeen I began to sponsor a child through Agape! That child is now 19 and no longer needing my sponsorship. I am now sponsoring two others! When discussing my trip on the phone with an Agape representative I was informed that I would have the opportunity to meet all three of my sponsored children! And That they would be excited to meet me. I was suddenly humbled and encouraged. Humbled and encouraged because God has used me in the lives of these precious children.
My prayer is that God would do something great in my heart and life, that He would somehow use me to be a blessing to each person I come in contact with, and that I would continue to follow the path that He has chosen for me. Most importantly that I draw SO MUCH closer to our Lord, I desire deep intimacy with Him.
Psalm 27:4 & Proverbs 30:7-9 have been my life verses if I would claim any
Thank you for your time, for your prayers, and always for your friendship!
